Princess Diana died in a "tragic accident" and there was no cover-up, according to Lord Stevens, who spent three years on his report.

The Princess died in August 1997, when the car she was travelling in with her boyfriend crashed in a Paris tunnel.

Lord Stevens confirmed that the driver had been drinking alcohol, and was two times over the UK limit for driving.

He also said that the car was travelling at 61 to 63mph when it crashed - twice the limit for the road.

Dodi's dad, Mohammed Al Fayed, said the couple were going to get engaged, and there were even claims she was pregnant.

Lord Stevens said blood tests had proved the Princess was not pregnant, and that Prince William said his mum had not given him "the slightest indication of such plans".
